Coverage Range

Each room (especially bedrooms, living rooms, corridors) should be equipped with at least one smoke alarm, and the number of rooms with larger areas can be appropriately increased. At least one smoke alarm should be installed on each floor, and multi-story residential buildings should be equipped with additional ones in the stairwells or joints of each floor.

Specific Location

  • Center of the ceiling:Smoke rises quickly, and abnormalities can be detected earliest in the center of the ceiling. Avoid installing in corners or near vents to prevent airflow from interfering with sensitivity.
  • Kitchen installation:It needs to be at least 3 meters away from the stove to avoid false alarms due to cooking; there must be an alarm within 4.5 meters of the sleeping area to ensure that the alarm sound can be heard.
  • Special places:High-risk areas such as nursing homes, rental houses, and basements need to be covered with emphasis, and one should be installed every 25-40 square meters.
